 History :

The  Entertainment Full Movie is Dirrected by Rick Alverson and Written by Rick Alverson, Rick Alverson .
The Stars of this movie are Gregg Turkington, John C. Reilly, Tye Sheridan .
En direction to meet his alienated daughter and attempting to revive his dwindling career, a broken down, aging comedian plays a string of dead-end shows in the Mojave desert . The film chronicles a cycle of recurring sequences that grow darker in depression. The comedian attends novelty tours on his journey, browsing at eye-sore mechanical marvels in the center of the desert, often away from the main gathering and guide. Then he performs at third-rate gigs such as dingy bars, often saying how he's travelled from miles away but by no means where from accurately, and gets distress when the audience don't laugh at his jokes. That's all part of his act, conversely, but it doesn't get them more contented. His warm-up act is an unpaid mime artist played by Tye Sheridan, though how they're travelling jointly remains a mystery. He calls his separated daughter before bed in hopes that she'll pick up and reconnect, but it's ostensibly in vain. Some other typescript take him aside, such as detours from his affluent cousin played by John C. Reilly, an example of success, and Michael Cera in a four minute cameo as a hustler who wants company.

There is a thin line, in the earth of independent movies  and European and world cinema as well-between superior intentions and an consummate form that can work as a piece of art. The usual thing, particularly in places of art festivals-such as the Thessaloniki film festival where I watched the film- is to meet movies that are rather exaggerated  , wanting to look clever(one perfect example of the kind is the highly regarded by the critics Lobster, which may go as distant as bare the title of the best European movie of the year), or that through their prominent emphasis on social situations demand to be taken dangerously as movies about people -in contrast with accurately what? Robert Bresson's masterpieces could teach something to all those middling directors who claim a place in the history of movies. So, when I encounter a movie maker who has really the ability to create a cinematic vision with intelligence and accuracy I am very glad. This is, I believe, the case of the film Entertainment, which although not easy to enjoy, it is in my opinion a outstanding work of musical quality(it has a pace that is successfully maintained throughout the movie) and a character that is not the sum of its influences(perhaps David Lynch, David Foster Wallace among others?).All actors are wonderful but the protagonist, I think, gives possibly the best performance of the year.Surely it is a movie that very few things happen, but they do happen in a background that is meaningful, in a form that shows that the director is a master of its means, even with the difficulty of the task. A rare experience, copious sometimes, of being in the margin, and what it is all about, strolling in the wasteland of our lonely damned hard seeking entertainment souls.
